zapftronics was founded by Florian Zapf in 2022.
Florian Zapf received his master’s degree in mechatronics in 2019 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and worked for Siemens AG as a PhD candidate for three years afterwards.
His research focuses on arrays of magnetic field sensors with different geometries used for current measurement and the fusion of sensor signals.
He has also worked on the following topics:
- Clock synchronization with DCF77 and GNSS receivers on a STM32 board
- Development of a setup for the characterization of capacitive proximity sensors and physical modeling of these sensors (master’s thesis)
- Development of the signal conditioning for a Coriolis mass flow meter with an FPGA
- Inductive power transfer and inductive signal transmission
- Characterization of magnetic field sensors
- Condition monitoring of electric motors
- Development of an impedance analyzer with an AD5933 (bachelor thesis)
